Position: CCTV Operator

Job Purpose:
The role is to safeguard company assets and ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and premises. This is achieved by operating and maintaining surveillance equipment, monitoring both live and recorded footage, and reporting incidents or suspicious behaviors to the immediate supervisor as needed.

Education:

  • Diploma / Level 3 / 10+3 in IT, ICT, or related fields, combined with certification in Physical Security Technology (HAS- Certified Security Associate) or (IBE- Intelligent Building System).

Experience:

  • 2 years of relevant experience in CCTV operation.

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of the operating area.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to integrate safety and security policies with business operations.
  • Experience in building and managing emergency response teams.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain surveillance equipment, monitoring live and recorded footage, reporting incidents or suspicious behavior, and contacting authorities when necessary.
  • Monitor all surveillance security systems/cameras within the Control Centre efficiently and in compliance with procedures, legislation, and best practices.
  • Record events, incidents, and actions in a clear, legible, and accurate written format.
  • Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses.
  • Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance and equipment inspection program to ensure optimal system operation and performance.
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policies and procedures, and restraining trespassers.
  • Ensure the operation of security equipment and surveillance cameras by reporting any malfunctions to the IT Administrator.
  • Cross-check and audit physical security related to incidents, safety issues, and illegal behaviors (e.g., drinking alcohol, unauthorized access to work areas, and security emergencies).
  • Contribute to the security team’s efforts by accomplishing related tasks and responding to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.
