Established and licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia on January 26, 2009, Oromia Insurance S.C. (OIC) is dedicated to engaging in general insurance business. Operational since February 9, 2009, the company was founded by 540 shareholders with a paid-up capital of Birr 26 million and a subscribed capital of Birr 85 million. By the end of the 2016/17 fiscal year, the number of shareholders had risen to 840, demonstrating the company’s robust financial standing. Notably, the diversity of its shareholders includes 1,600,000 low-income farmers through their farmers’ cooperative unions. The company is committed to fulfilling its mission, tailored to meet the specific needs of its customers, and has developed reliable strategic plans to realize its vision.
Position 1: Chief Resources Officer
Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree from a recognized higher learning institution
- Preferably possess a diploma or advanced diploma in insurance from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), or Life Office Management Association (LOMA)
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience in insurance, with at least 4 years in a managerial position in one or more core areas of general insurance operations Location: Addis Ababa
Position 2: Director, Legal Services Directorate
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized higher learning institution
- Preferably holds a Master of Law (LLM) Degree
- 10 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial position in legal services or related area Location: Head Office
