VisionFund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) is a prominent organization established under proclamation No. 40/96 to provide financial services to the productive poor in both rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. Currently operating in four of the nation’s Regional States, VisionFund MFI is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

Position 1: Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Operations

Job Summary: The Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Operations oversees credit appraisal, credit provision, portfolio management, branch operations, resource mobilization, and e-banking operations. This role is crucial for planning, organizing, and supervising these services to ensure effective policy implementation, profitability, and sustainability.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising credit services, portfolio management, engineering services, resource mobilization, and e-banking operations.
  • Directing and executing business operations.
  • Ensuring effective policy and procedure implementation at all operational levels.
  • Ensuring business profitability and sustainability.
  • Monitoring and following up on the performance of regional offices.
  • Providing strategic leadership to the management team.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • MA/MBA/BA Degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, or related fields.
  • At least 11/13 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior managerial position, preferably in MFI/Banks.

Technical and Other Skills:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated technical and managerial ability.
  • Understanding of participatory approaches and sustainable development.
  • Good knowledge of microfinance and financial matters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Microfin (preferred).
  • High integrity and responsibility.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Terms of Employment: Permanent
Salary & Benefits: Negotiable and attractive, including the provision of a company car with a fuel allowance.

Position 2: Executive Assistant to CEO (Re-advertisement)

Job Summary: The Executive Assistant supports the CEO by streamlining operations, developing policies, coordinating meetings, managing written communication, and preparing documents.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Streamlining operations and improving internal control.
  • Supporting policy development and coordination.
  • Coordinating executive and senior management meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and updating the CEO on implementation status.
  • Composing, editing, and completing first drafts of various documents.
  • Reviewing reports and proposals before submission to the Board.
  • Assisting in document preparation and other tasks assigned by the CEO.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • MA/MBA/BA in Business Management or related fields.
  • At least 7/9 years of work experience related to the position, preferably in Banks or MFI.

Technical and Other Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet browsing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate information accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in report writing.
