Vacancy Announcement: Junior Legal Assistant and Program Review Position

Silver Spring Production and Promotion PLC, the exclusive agent for ebs tv, seeks to hire a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Junior Legal Assistant and Program Reviewer.

The role of Program Review falls under the Legal Department, serving as a gatekeeper and preventive measure against legal issues for the station. Additionally, it fosters a conducive working environment by promoting legal awareness among the creative and production teams. Recognizing the limitations of freedom of expression, the focus of this position lies in upholding media-related laws and journalistic ethics.

Position 1: Junior Accountant

Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain accounting systems, overseeing assistant accountants and trainees. Handle banking affairs and finalize all financial records related to production, coordinating independent audits. Collaborate with producers and production managers to develop realistic budgets for assigned programs. Manage financial transactions throughout the production lifecycle, including pre-production, production, and post-production phases. Supervise payroll, petty cash, and vendor payments. Monitor program expenses against budgets, reporting any discrepancies. Generate regular financial reports for producers and executives, ensuring transparency in financial progress. Maintain accurate financial records compliant with accounting standards. Facilitate the distribution of financial reports and documents. Process per diem payments and maintain proper documentation. Assist with accounting tasks such as invoicing and purchase order tracking. Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance, or a related field. Ability to collaborate with staff to maintain financial records and ledgers. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of records and data. Proficiency in Peachtree and MS Office, QuickBooks accounting software. Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a business acumen. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Position 2: Junior Human Resources Officer

Responsibilities:

Work under the supervision of the Chief, Human Resources Section. Ensure compliance with human resources policies, regulations, and agreements. Manage employment-related contracts and post-recruitment formalities. Handle staff insurance, medical issues, and related correspondences. Maintain employee records, attendance, and job descriptions. Assist in recruitment activities and performance management. Identify areas for HR process improvement and make recommendations. Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, or Human Resource Management. 2-3 years of experience in a similar HR role. Knowledge of HR operations and best practices. Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS programs. Strong communication and organizational skills. Problem-solving abilities. Additional HR certification is a plus.

Position 3: Purchaser

Responsibilities:

Assess procurement requirements and initiate procurement processes. Prepare procurement documents and ensure quality and timely delivery of goods. Monitor procurement progress and prepare reports. Maintain inventory records. Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management or a related field. 2-3 years of previous experience in procurement. Location: Addis Ababa
