The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) is seeking qualified candidates for the following job opportunities:
Position 1: Administrative Assistant, G-6
Education: A prerequisite is a high school diploma or its equivalent. Candidates possessing a bachelor’s degree or higher must have at least five years of applicable experience.
Work Experience: Applicants should have at least seven years of experience in administrative work, conference servicing, general office support, or related fields. Experience with filing and office equipment is necessary, and previous work with senior officials in an international organization is advantageous.
Responsibilities include initiating, reviewing, processing, and following up on administrative actions related to human resource activities, ensuring compliance with UN rules and procedures.
Language: Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of French is desirable. Proficiency in another official UN language is advantageous.
Position 2: Programme Management Assistant, G-6
Education: A prerequisite is a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Work Experience: Candidates should have at least seven years of experience in programme or project administration, technical cooperation, or related areas. Those with a first-level university degree or higher need a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Experience in data analytics or administrative services is desirable.
This role, situated within the Publication and Conference Management Section (PCMS) of the Publication, Conference, and Knowledge Management Division (PCKMD), involves operating under the overall guidance of the PCKMD Director and the immediate supervision of the Section Chief.
Language: Fluency in oral and written English is required, and proficiency in another official UN language is advantageous.
