Abay Bank S.C. is inviting capable and qualified individuals to apply for the following positions. The bank has fulfilled all requirements set by the National Bank of Ethiopia for its establishment as a financial institution. It was officially established on July 14th, 2010, and began full-scale banking operations on November 3, 2010.

As of June 30, 2023, the bank’s paid-up capital is Birr 4.733 Billion, with 4,437 shareholders. Abay Bank is committed to serving various economic sectors through its branch network, including domestic trade, international trade, agriculture, industry, transportation, construction, and real estate.

Position 1: Customer Service Supervisor Grade – I

Educational Qualification and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, Management, Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, or related fields, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in banking operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing ticket/voucher countersigning and transaction authorization.
  • Supervising cheque clearance activities and accounts reconciliation.
  • Other related tasks.

  • Bedessa Branch/ West Hararghe
  • Harar Branch
  • Melkarefu Branch

Position 2: Branch Manager – Grade -I

Educational Qualification and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Economics, Accounting & Finance, Marketing, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or related fields, with at least 3 years’ experience in banking operations, including 1 year in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and coordinating overall branch activities.
  • Monitoring and evaluating branch operations/targets.
  • Motivating and coaching customer service officers.
  • Identifying and recruiting potential customers while providing professional advice.

  • Daruselam Branch/Jigjiga City
  • Kebri Dahar/Somali Region
  • Deder Branch/ East Hararghe
  • Fugan Bira Branch/ East Hararghe

Note: Proficiency in Af-Soomaali language is preferable for applicants to Daruselam Branch/Jigjiga City.
