HABESHA Cement Share Co. is an Ethiopian-based cement manufacturing enterprise established in September 2008, specializing in the production of OPC 42.5R and PPC 32.5N cements.
Position: Senior Accountant
Responsibilities:
- Conducting monthly reconciliation checks.
- Monitoring balances for each account and ensuring accuracy.
- Assisting the financial manager with managerial cash flow activities such as budgeting, collections, and credit notes.
- Visiting the bank to execute payments, verify balances, and collect bank statements.
- Managing petty cash replenishment, verifying funds, overseeing bank transfers, and maintaining security bonds.
- Organizing monthly VAT, WHT, pension, and income tax declarations using the online system.
- Assisting the finance manager in updating monthly and yearly reports on costs (fixed, variable, transportation, energy, and service), sales, and inventory.
- Handling tax clearance and VAT refund procedures with the revenue minister.
- Providing on-the-job training and guidance to junior accountants.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the sector.
