Ethiopian Red Cross Society vacancy

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS), established in 1935, stands as one of Ethiopia’s oldest and largest humanitarian organizations. It extends services to communities impacted by both natural and man-made disasters through emergency responses, ambulance and first aid provision, family reunification, essential medications, water and sanitation, and various other humanitarian services. ERCS actively implements disaster risk reduction programs with the objective of fostering resilience in families and communities. Currently, ERCS operates with a structure comprising 12 Regional Offices, 34 Zonal Branches, and 131 District/Woreda Branches, along with 599 Woreda Red Cross Committees and 5871 Kebele Red Cross Committees.

In addition to disaster response, ERCS is engaged in disaster risk reduction initiatives related to food security, climate change adaptation, livelihood diversification, and institutional capacity building. The aim is to enhance the resilience of both households and communities. ERCS collaborates with the Ethiopian Government, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), partnering National Societies, members, volunteers, and the communities it serves.
