The Soufflet Group, a French family-owned enterprise, adds value to agricultural raw materials through various activities such as industrial milling and malting. In the malt market, it is a leading global player with 28 malt plants situated in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa, strategically positioned in the heart of barley-producing regions.

Commencing operations in Ethiopia in 2017 within the barley supply chain, Soufflet inaugurated its malt factory in Addis Ababa in April 2021.

Job Position: Data Clerk (Six-Month Contract)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The data encoder is tasked with efficiently inputting data into the supply trace system, specifically related to daily grain purchases, ensuring accuracy for timely payments to farmers. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining precision.

Data Collection and Input:

Collect grain data from the quality assessment team responsible for sourcing.

Input the gathered data into the supply trace system.

Enter data received from the team, whether in the form of scanned documents or digital copies.

Payment Facilitation:

Utilize the source trace system to facilitate payments to farmers.

Ensure accurate processing and recording of payment transactions on the system.

Document Compilation and Archiving:

Compile hard copies of data documents.

Arrange and store the gathered documents for future consultation.

Communication and Data Validation:

Regularly communicate with relevant stakeholders to ensure data accuracy.

Validate and verify data to uphold data integrity.

Printing and Distribution:

Generate and print Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) from the system.

Make printed GRNs available to the concerned unit.

Payment Vouchers:

Generate payment vouchers for each farmer’s supply.

Ensure that payment vouchers are completed with accuracy.

Record Keeping:

Record memos for grain purchases made through direct acquisition.

Keep comprehensive records of all transactions associated with the acquisition of grains.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Conduct analysis on grain purchases and prepare weekly reports for management.

Present findings and recommendations based on the conducted analysis.

Tasks Assigned by Supervisor:

Fulfill any extra tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT.

Proficiency in data encoding is advantageous.

Mandatory fluency in local languages, Amharic and Affan Oromo.

Strong English language skills are also required.

Ability to work under pressure and travel to the field as needed.
