VisionFund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) was established in response to proclamation No. 40/96 to provide financial services to the productive poor in both rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. Presently, VisionFund operates in four Regional States of the country.

We are currently seeking candidates for the Branch Manager position. Successful candidates must possess skills and experience that align with the following requirements:

Position: Branch Manager “D”

Major Responsibilities:

Manage overall portfolio growth and portfolio quality.
Ensure verification of the existence of clients and assess creditworthiness of their businesses.
Chair the Branch Credit Committee (BCC) and participate in evaluating, approving, or rejecting loans as per discretion.
Ensure saving deposit and withdrawals comply with policies.
Manage, coordinate, and supervise branch staff, ensuring efficient service delivery operations.
Coordinate and supervise branch operations, plan personnel capacity, select new staff, undertake fair HRM, and evaluate existing staff according to management decisions.
Supervise economical use of material resources (Generator, Motorcycles & Vehicles) and ensure timely servicing.
Ensure high morale among branch staff, identify capacity-building needs, and provide adequate and up-to-date training.
Undertake annual performance appraisals and staff development plans.
Manage the branch and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
Implement policies, procedures, and internal controls at the branch.
Make decisions on all operational & financial issues within the framework of existing laws and management decisions.


Reporting and Communication:

Perform independent balancing of all records.
Collaborate with other management members of the MFI.
Attend quarterly branch manager’s meetings, engage in team problem-solving, and work together on overlapping tasks.
Planning & Integration:

Develop the branch business plan and annual work plans, seeking approval from the SMT on projected targets and required resources.
Adjust the plan as needed.
Marketing:

Promote loans, savings, and other services offered by the Branch.
Plan and initiate promotional measures in the target markets of the branch.


Qualification and Technical Skill Required:

A university qualification in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Banking, Marketing, Cooperative, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture, or a related field in social sciences and business is required. Candidates should have a minimum of four years of relevant experience for a Degree or six years for a Diploma.

We are seeking individuals with a determined personality, possessing initiative, perseverance, and the ability to effectively motivate and manage a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Able to plan and manage budgets, including a basic understanding of accounting.
Excellent coaching, facilitation, mentoring, and coaching skills.
Very good communication and marketing abilities.
Motorcycle driving skill and license.
