The Engineering Corporation of Oromia (ECO) was reconstituted in 2020 under Regulation No. 214/2020 of the Oromia National Regional State, transitioning from its previous identity as OWWDSE. Originally established as ECO in Finfinnee (Addis Ababa) in May 2006 through Regulation No. 66/2006, the organization’s primary aim is to provide top-notch services to its clientele.
Initially, the Oromia Water Works Design and Supervision Enterprise (OWWDSE) commenced operations with an authorized capital of 100 million ET birr, of which 15 million ET birr was paid up in cash and in kind. The enterprise began with 3 vehicles and a workforce of 32 employees. Presently, ECO boasts a substantial growth, with a staff strength of 1222 employees, a fleet of 192 vehicles, and a current capital of 802.33 million ETB. Notably, the authorized capital stands at an impressive 1 billion ET birr.
Position 1 – Senior Sprinkler Design Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc/PhD in Irrigation/Hydraulic Engineering.
Experience: A minimum of 14/12/10 years, with at least two (2) years of direct work experience in sprinkler design.
Position 2 – Senior Hydrologist
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Hydrology/Hydraulic/Water Resource or related fields.
Experience: A minimum of 12/10 years, with expertise in Hydrological Modeling, Flood Risk Assessment, and Water Management. Previous involvement in flood administration and proficiency in software such as HEC-Geo Ras & HEC-HMS.
Position 3 – Senior Quantity Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Structure/Civil Engineering or related fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years, with at least 8/6 years in building design.
Position 4 – Senior Sanitary Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Sanitary/Hydraulic Engineering or related fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years, with at least 8/6 years in building design.
Position 5 – Senior Electromechanical Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Electromechanical/Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years, with at least 8/6 years in building design.
Position 6 – Senior Structural Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Structure/Civil Engineering or associated fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years, with at least 8/6 years in building design.
Position 7 – Senior Professional Architect
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Architecture.
Experience: 6/4 years of expertise in associated fields of work, with at least 6 years in building design.
Position 8 – Senior IT Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Computer Science/IT or Related Fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years, with at least 8/6 years in building design.
Position 9 – Senior Electrical Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years, with at least 8/6 years in building design.
Position 10 – Drilling Supervisors
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Geology or associated fields.
Experience: 4/2 years of expertise in associated fields of work.
Position 11 – Senior Hydrogeologist
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Hydrogeology/Geology or associated fields.
Experience: A minimum of 12/10 years of expertise in associated fields.
Position 12 – Mechanical Engineer
Educational Background: BA/MA in Mechanical Engineering or associated fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years of related experience.
13th Position – Specialist in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing
Educational Background: BA/MA in GIS & Remote Sensing/Geo-Informatics or related fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years of related experience.
Position 14 – Electrical Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years of related expertise.
Position 15 – Landscape Designer
Educational Background: MSc/PhD in Architecture/Urban Planning or associated fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years of experience in specific work.
Position 16 – Urban Planner
Educational Background: MSc/PhD in Urban Planning or associated fields.
Experience: A minimum of 10/8 years of experience in specific work.
Position 17 – Road Transport Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Transport/Civil Engineering or associated fields.

Position 18 – Solid Water Management Design Expert
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Hydrology/Hydraulic/Water Resource or associated fields.

Position 19 – Sewerage Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Irrigation/Water Supply/Environmental/Sanitary Engineering or associated fields.

Position 20 – Drainage & Stormwater Engineer
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Hydrology/Hydraulic/Water Resource or associated fields.

Position 21 – Engineering Geologist
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Geology/Engineering Geology.
Experience: 4/2 years of expertise in Geology & Geotechnical Investigation works.
