Ireland established diplomatic ties with Ethiopia in 1994 when it inaugurated its Embassy in Addis Ababa. The nation’s involvement in Ethiopia aligns with Ireland’s overarching foreign policy, which endeavors to foster a more secure, just, fair, and sustainable global environment.

Aligned with Irish Aid, Ireland’s international development program, the focus in Ethiopia is on empowering individuals to overcome poverty and hunger while realizing their rights and potential. The Irish Aid initiative in Ethiopia specifically targets the most impoverished and vulnerable segments of society.

The Embassy of Ireland in Addis Ababa is actively searching for a Finance Manager, seeking an individual who is highly motivated, hardworking, proactive, and flexible, possessing outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Position: Receptionist Officer

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:

Essential Requirements:

Candidates should hold a degree, preferably in disciplines such as Social Science with a focus on Secretarial Science and Office Management or Business Management.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in INGOs, donor agencies, or a similar environment is required. Candidates must demonstrate, through work-based examples, excellent interpersonal skills, persuasiveness, teamwork, and effective dealings with external organizations.
Evidence of flexibility, efficiency, and effectiveness, including strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and manage multiple tasks is essential.
Candidates should demonstrate, with examples, a solutions-oriented approach and commitment to delivering results, adapting their approach if necessary.
Full bilingual proficiency in English and Amharic is mandatory (language test may be part of the shortlisting process).
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required.
All applicants must possess a permanent legal right to reside and work in Ethiopia.
Desirable Skills and Experience:

A good understanding of the role of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy.
Previous involvement in a diplomatic mission is advantageous but not mandatory.

Contract Duration: The selected candidate will receive a 3-year contract, including a 60-day probationary period.

Annual Leave Allowance: The annual leave entitlement is 20 working days per year.

Gross Salary: €729.15 per month, paid in the local currency. Salaries will be deposited directly into a bank account, and candidates must possess one.
