Abay Bank met all the necessary requirements set by the National Bank of Ethiopia to establish a financial institution and was officially founded on July 14th, 2010. It commenced full-fledged banking operations on November 3, 2010.

As of June 30, 2023, the bank’s paid-up capital stands at Birr 4.733 Billion. The number of shareholders has reached 4,437. The bank aims to serve various financial sectors through its network of branches, extending services to domestic and international trade, agriculture, commerce, transportation, construction, and real estate sectors.

Position 1: Branch Manager Grade 1


Job Summary
The Branch Manager Grade 1 plans and coordinates overall branch activities, evaluates branch operations against established performance parameters, and motivates customer service officers. They identify and recruit potential clients while providing professional advice.
Educational Level and Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Management/Economics/Accounting & Finance/Marketing or Banking & Finance/Business Administration or a related field with 6 years’ work experience in banking operations, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
Place of Work: Damboya Branch/Gambella Branch/Assosa Branch

Position 2: Senior Interest-Free Banking Operations Officer


Job Summary


The Senior Interest-Free Banking Operations Officer coordinates and supports branches and IFB activities within the District Office. They ensure adherence to procedures, proper risk management, and motivate staff for high-quality service delivery.
Job Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Accounting/Management/Business Administration/Finance and Accounting or a related field with 4 years of banking operations experience, including 2 years in IFB operations.
Place of Work: Dire Dawa District Office

Position 3: Senior Auditor


Job Summary


The Senior Auditor plans audit objectives, scope, and methodology, performs audits professionally, and communicates results through written reports and oral presentations. They also conduct special investigations and fraud audits.
Job Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Accounting/Management/Business Administration/Finance and Accounting or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of banking operations experience.

Position 4: Manager – Credit Business


Job Summary


The Manager in Credit Business identifies potential clients, advises on the credit process, collects necessary documents, facilitates collateral estimation, and negotiates for amicable settlements.
Educational Level and Work Experience:
MBA/BA degree in Management/Accounting/Finance/Economics/Business Administration or a related field with a minimum of 8/10 years of experience in banking operations, including 4 years in Credit Management.


Place of Work: Adama District
