Hope Enterprise University College (HEUC) stands as the latest educational institution in Ethiopia, situated on a lush, expansive, and pristine 5-hectare campus designed to foster an ideal environment for the teaching and learning process, promoting a student and faculty-friendly atmosphere. HEUC is accredited in three graduate programs: MBA, MSC in Accounting & Finance, and MA in Organizational Leadership. Additionally, it holds accreditation for undergraduate programs in Architecture, Accounting and Finance, Management, Marketing Management, and Computer Science. Currently, the university faculty is actively seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Lecturer within the Business Faculty of the University College. Position 1: Lecturer

Responsibilities:

Develop a comprehensive course syllabus, encompassing course objectives, reading materials, grading criteria, expectations for term papers, group work, class interaction norms, and a schedule for each class milestone.

Prepare instructional materials in alignment with the university faculty’s curriculum.

Deliver courses through lectures, practical sessions, demonstrations, workshops, field trips, and laboratory/studio sessions, ensuring coverage of course materials throughout the semester.

Assign and evaluate term papers and assignments, providing constructive feedback to students.

Conduct examinations that assess problem-solving and analytical skills, emphasizing critical thinking over rote learning.

Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Master’s in Management (MA/MBA) and Bachelor’s in Management (BA).

Master’s in Marketing Management (MA) and Bachelor’s in Marketing Management (BA).

Master’s in Accounting (MSC/MA) and Bachelor’s in Accounting and Finance (BA/BSC).

Professional Background:

Minimum of three years of teaching experience in Ethiopian higher education.

Position 2: Lecturer

Responsibilities:

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

PhD, Master’s degree, and bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management.

Experience:

Minimum of three years of teaching experience in Ethiopian Higher Education.

Position 3: Accountant

Responsibilities:

Prepare payment vouchers in compliance with financial regulations and university authorizations.

Compile journal vouchers, balance accounting entries, and generate quarterly trial balance and financial statements.

Process monthly payroll and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.

Oversee outstanding accounts, travel advances, salary advances, and other receivables, reporting to the immediate supervisor for appropriate action.

Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and records of store issue and receiving vouchers.

Record all petty cash payments, ensuring the accuracy and legality of receipts before replenishment.

Establish, uphold, and oversee the execution of accounting and financial control protocols.

Prepare regular bank reconciliation statements and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Inform various faculty divisions of their monthly received funds and balances by preparing balance statements.

Prepare monthly provident fund statements for staff and distribute their ledger biannually.

Assist in the closing of books and preparation of financial reports.

Accountable to: Finance Head

Requirements and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a chief or senior accountant/finance manager.

Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and GAAP/IFRS.

Familiarity with financial accounting statements and accounting software (e.g., Peachtree).

Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables.

Accuracy, attention to detail, and quantitative skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a field closely related to them.

Relevant certification (e.g., IFRS, Peachtree) preferred.
