Position 1: Clinical Nurse –MHN

Job Purpose:

The primary objective of this position is to provide crucial support to Save the Children’s emergency programs in Afar, with a specific focus on enhancing accountability to beneficiaries. The goal is to empower communities, gather feedback on SC UK projects, and thereby enhance the overall quality and impact. The role involves close collaboration with the MEAL Coordinator, project staff, and beneficiaries to establish effective accountability mechanisms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct and perform primary healthcare (PHC) consultations, providing appropriate treatment based on established protocols.
Strengthen linkages and coordination between the community and woreda health bureaus.
Enhance early referral mechanisms.
Plan and execute projects outlined in the protocol for Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) and Save the Children (SC) to achieve project objectives.
Facilitate patient admissions at OTP and SC, supporting Health Extension Workers (HEWs) in severe acute malnutrition case management.
Train and support HEWs and community-based volunteer health workers for effective project implementation.
Ensure admitted children receive quality clinical and nutritional care using available resources.
Maintain adequate supplies of necessary nutritional and clinical requirements.
Assist in planning and promoting awareness on nutrition and preventive healthcare in the community.

Position 2: CPIMS Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the Child Protection Central CPIMS database for UASC/OVC at the Camp level.
Provide direct support and deliver technical training on CP IMS, data management, and data protocol tools.
Collaborate with UNHCR registration team to harmonize data and update the Progress database and data protocol tools.
Update the CPIMS system online for improved programming.
Develop comprehensive case management systems for special needs children, ensuring confidentiality.
Customize CPIMS database according to CP program and minimum standards.
Match inquirer information against UASC for reunification purposes.
Review case load and monitoring statistics, setting targets for case follow-ups and closure.
Maintain a filing system for received, open, and closed cases.
Follow up on unregistered children and work with RRS/UNHCR for refugee documentation.
Implement the Data Protection Policy, ensuring confidentiality of children’s information.
Orientate new data entry staff on CPIMS before they start working.
Ensure the presence of a data protocol in all camps.
Address data quality issues and report to the Line Manager.
Assure the protection of systems and data through regular backups.
Uphold confidentiality of collected and stored data.

Position 3: Data Clerk

Job Description

Child Safeguarding: Level 3 – This role may involve regular contact with or access to children or young people.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The incumbent will be responsible for managing CP program data, overseeing the Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS). The role involves ensuring accurate data entry, secure handling of quantitative and qualitative information related to comprehensive case management (CP and GBV) and Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR), following Case Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role includes the day-to-day administration of the CPIMS (Database) while maintaining confidentiality. The position ensures timely and efficient data entry, analysis, and proactive sharing of CPIMS data with the CP team. Additionally, it supports GBV data management and submits regular reports to Child Protection and GBV Officers.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately and timely enter information from case management forms into the inter-agency child protection database.

Request additional information from CP/GBV staff, file forms when necessary, and ensure efficient data capture processes.

Generate reports on caseload and statistics for the CPIMS+ Coordinator or line Manager.

Review caseload, set targets for case follow-ups and closure, and identify gaps as appropriate.

Participate in and facilitate training on FTR, case management, data management, reporting, and confidentiality.

Maintain a filing system for received, open, and closed cases from project teams and other FTR and case management partners.

Ensure proper stock and management of all FTR tools in consultation with the line manager.

Allocate database codes to newly reported individual cases in a systematic and precise fashion. Work closely with the CPIMS+ Coordinator and MEAL team to oversee data collection, employing consistency checks, validation, and verification processes. Develop supplementary data entry Excel sheets tailored to the requirements and requests of non-FTR cases. Ensure routine database backups and share them with the CPIMS+ Coordinator. Record all non-food item distributions for both FTR and non-FTR cases in accordance with donor specifications. Assist in compiling the Output Tracker and Indicator Performance Tracking Tables for CP initiatives.

Apply learning in daily work and share with project staff to become a resource for quality monitoring and advocate for effective data and information management.

Generate information on the weekly caseload by security concerns and by sex for the team, sharing the list of weekly follow-ups.

Implement the Data Protection Policy/Information Sharing Protocol and standards for confidentiality.

Comply with all relevant Save the Children International policies and procedures regarding child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, security, and equal opportunities.
