Position 1: ICT Specialist – Technology Innovation

Job Requirements

Education/Experience/Language qualifications:

Education:

Possession of an advanced University Degree (Master’s or equivalent) or higher in computer science or a related field is mandatory;

Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in the aforementioned fields, coupled with an additional two (2) years of relevant experience, can be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years of expertise in engineering data-intensive applications or data science is obligatory;

Demonstrated experience in executing technology and innovation-related project work, along with coordinating technical teams, is preferred;

Proven ability to translate intricate user needs and other product requirements into the design of technical, data-intensive applications is advantageous;

Experience in designing and deploying data-driven applications in the cloud, encompassing data governance, data processing, analysis, and reporting/visualization, is preferred;

Proficiency in employing, designing, coding, and deploying open source software is desirable;

Competence in programming with Python is considered a plus;

Familiarity with one or more popular ML/AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc., is desirable;

Proficiency in programming with NodeJS is an asset;

Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure and their application in data ingestion, processing, and deployment architectures is beneficial;

Awareness of MLOps is an asset;

Experience in incorporating quality controls into the development of AI models, including the utilization of human-in-the-loop to correct irreducible errors, is an asset;

Successful collaboration as part of a team is a prerequisite, with experience in distributed, international teams being desirable;

Strong communication skills are valued, with the ability to articulate complex analytical concepts to individuals from diverse backgrounds and disciplines;

Having prior experience in managing people is advantageous.

Experience working within the UN system is an advantage.

Language Requirements:

Full proficiency in English is mandatory;

Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is considered an asset.

Position 2: Administrative And Finance Analyst

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, project management, or equivalent is required; an accounting certification is preferred but not mandatory. A Master’s or Graduate degree is preferred but not obligatory.

Experience:

A minimum of two years (with a Master’s) or four years (with a Bachelor’s) of relevant experience in project/program management, budget administration, accounting, finance, operations, audit, or related fields is mandatory.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Skype) is required;

Specialized training in office management and administration is highly desirable, along with hands-on experience with UN ATLAS system and UNDP Procurement process and Policy;

Knowledge of UNDP program management procedures and policies, including experience with Atlas, is an asset;

Past work experience with a UN agency and/or international organization is considered an asset;

Having prior experience in managing people is advantageous.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in English with effective written and oral communication skills is required.
