Silk Road General Hospital (ASRGH), established in Ethiopia’s capital in 2017, was inspired by the “Belt and Road Initiative” of AFEI Holding. This advanced, 14-story facility aims to foster China-Africa relations by advancing healthcare standards in Africa. The hospital is designed to serve two primary groups: patients and their families, as well as healthcare professionals.
Position 1: General Nurse/IPD Nurse
Job Overview
Responsible for supporting patient health through effective nursing practices and providing both physical and emotional care to patients and their families. This role involves individualized patient care and team supervision, reporting to the clinical manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care based on FMHACA standards, policies, and hospital protocols.
- Conduct regular patient rounds as per hospital practices.
- Follow all procedures for medication administration and storage.
- Record and monitor patient vital signs and medical details.
- Adhere to infection control protocols.
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
- Educate patients on post-discharge care needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- BSc in Nursing, with valid licensure.
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
- Certifications in BLS and ACLS.
- Strong communication and basic computer skills.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written.

Position 2: Midwife Nurse
Job Overview
The Midwife Nurse will provide specialized care during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver quality patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer prenatal care and monitor maternal and fetal health.
- Support normal vaginal deliveries and monitor labor progress.
- Deliver postpartum care, ensuring mother and newborn recovery.
- Create individualized care plans as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed.
- Work with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Midwifery certification or training in obstetric nursing.
- Minimum 2-3 years in maternal-child health or obstetric nursing.

Position 3: OR Nurse
Job Overview
The OR Nurse assists surgeons during procedures, ensuring sterility and supporting high-quality patient care. This role includes preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting both surgeons and anesthesia providers as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care aligned with FMHACA standards and hospital protocols.
- Conduct regular rounds as per hospital practices.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and a safe hospital environment.
- Confirm all patient care needs are met.
- Prepare necessary medications, supplies, and instruments.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs before and during surgery.
- Prepare patients for surgery, ensuring proper positioning.
- Confirm patient identity and verify all medical records prior to surgery.
Qualifications & Skills
- BSc in Nursing, with valid licensure.
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
