Position 1: Program Strategy, Quality, and Impact Director

This role is a significant enhancement of the former “Impact and Strategic Partnerships Director” position, reflecting expanded responsibilities necessary to meet our ambitious five-year strategic objectives. In response to evolving conditions under the FY21-25 Strategic Plan, this position will be pivotal in enhancing WVE’s capability in new opportunity areas due to governmental reforms, such as local fundraising and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in new units, including Strategy, Quality, Evidence of Impact, Advocacy, and Resource Development, ensuring comprehensive oversight of WVE’s country strategy.
  • Strengthen resource acquisition and partnerships by engaging with various donors, including individuals, foundations, churches, and bilateral and multilateral agencies, to meet WVE’s financial goals.
  • Work closely with the National Director and Director of Operations to deliver on WVE’s strategy, ensuring program quality, impact, and effective resource mobilization.
  • Oversee and improve donor communications, engagement, and World Vision Ethiopia’s brand identity to build trust, reputation, and revenue nationally and internationally.
  • Lead efforts in Advocacy, External Engagement, and Legal and Justice for Children, aligning with WV Ethiopia’s National Office strategy.
  • Guide the design and monitoring of all WV Ethiopia programs, providing technical support to ensure impactful implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience and a record in managing complex grants and programs.
  • Proven track record with government donor relations, fundraising, and multi-million-dollar proposal writing.
  • Knowledge of program design, monitoring systems, and humanitarian trends, along with strong leadership in managing Health & Nutrition, WASH, Food Security, Education, and Child Protection programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in a relevant field (e.g., development studies, business administration, social sciences).
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, partnership-building, and people management skills.

Position 2: Emergency Livelihood Officer

Location: Shalla Woreda

Purpose: This position will support the Emergency Agriculture components of an integrated multi-sector project, focusing on beneficiary targeting, agricultural inputs, and training for crop and livestock support. The officer will monitor project progress and coordinate with the woreda agriculture office to ensure effective implementation and regular support for beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and verify beneficiary households, facilitate project awareness, and address complaints.
  • Coordinate project implementation in compliance with donor and government requirements.
  • Plan, manage, and document the distribution of agricultural inputs.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions for agricultural agents and beneficiaries.
  • Track project implementation, report progress, and compile lessons learned for the Emergency Livelihood Project Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in agriculture/livelihood projects, with NGO experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with emergency response, field data recording, and report writing.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
