Kelem International School – Internship Opportunity

Kelem International School (KIS), previously known as the Swedish Community School, is seeking qualified applicants for the following position.

Located in Addis Ababa, the Swedish Community School has been providing a Swedish education profile since its establishment in 1946, accumulating over 70 years of experience in delivering education in English within a foreign context.

Currently, the school offers preschool, primary, and lower secondary education, catering to approximately 150 students aged between 3 and 14 years. The school follows the Swedish Curriculum, LGR 11, for its compulsory education program.

Position: Administrative Assistant


(Internship for Temporary Employment)

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in management or a related field.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months of proven experience as an Administrative Assistant.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication in both English and Amharic.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with office management systems and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment such as printers, scanners, and fax machines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage an HR documentation system.
  • Maintain office files and records to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal educational standards.
  • Prepare written materials, including reports, memos, and letters.
  • Draft and distribute emails, memos, letters, and other communications.
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures.
  • Keep contact lists for stakeholders up to date.
  • Provide general support to visitors.
  • Address various calls, concerns, and complaints to provide information or direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist other staff members in completing their work tasks.
  • Manage job inquiries by accepting CVs and assisting the HR manager with related matters.
  • Handle all incoming calls and correspondence, ensuring timely follow-up by the relevant individuals.
  • Perform any additional administrative duties as required.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM) and Friday (7:30 AM – 3:30 PM).
